A smarter shower concept

Less mess.
More flow.

Meet SealDrain — a proposed manually operated shower hair-trap system designed to simplify the way hair is collected, transferred and removed from a shower drain. No power, no complicated daily routine — just a more considered approach to maintenance.

The SealDrain vision

A small detail that could make a big difference.

Hair in the shower drain is an everyday frustration. SealDrain is being developed around one simple idea: make the process of collecting and removing hair more convenient.

↻

Twist-to-clean idea

A proposed manually operated mechanism aims to move collected hair without requiring electricity.

▤

Removable collection

The concept includes a separate cartridge intended to make collected hair easier to access and dispose of.

✦

Designed for simplicity

Conceived with straightforward operation, everyday maintenance and practical bathroom use in mind.

How the concept works

A different approach to drain maintenance.

SealDrain is an early-stage mechanical concept. The proposed mechanism is subject to engineering, prototyping and testing.

01

Collect

A slotted drain cover is intended to catch hair while allowing shower water to pass.

02

Turn

A manual dial is proposed to move trapped hair toward a collection compartment.

03

Remove

A detachable cartridge is envisioned for disposal of the collected hair.

Why SealDrain?

Designed around the everyday problem.

Hair can accumulate around shower drains and make cleaning an unpleasant chore. SealDrain explores a different maintenance experience — one where collection and removal are considered together from the start.

◎

Less direct handling

The removable cartridge concept aims to reduce the need to pull trapped hair out by hand. How well it works will be assessed in testing.

↻

Manual by design

The intended cleaning action uses a simple twist rather than a motor, battery or powered connection.

▥

Maintenance in mind

The proposed design brings together water drainage, hair capture and a separate collection area, with accessibility and cleaning as design priorities.

A closer look

One concept. Three everyday actions.

Shower normally. A slotted upper cover is intended to allow water through while capturing loose hair.

Turn the dial. The proposed internal moving parts would guide accumulated hair towards a dedicated collection compartment.

Empty the cartridge. The removable compartment is intended to make disposal more convenient than reaching into the drain.

These are design intentions, not verified performance claims. Actual flow rate, transfer efficiency and ease of removal require physical testing.

Proposed design priorities

Built for real bathrooms

Our engineering goals include compact dimensions, practical water flow, resistance to hair tangling, easy access for cleaning and compatibility with suitable drain configurations.

Final size, materials, installation method and compatibility have not been confirmed. The concept illustration is not a technical specification.

Frequently asked questions

What you might want to know.

Clear answers about what SealDrain is — and what is still being developed.

What is SealDrain?

SealDrain is an early-stage concept for a shower hair trap that combines hair collection with a manually operated transfer action and removable collection cartridge.

How would it work?

The proposed system catches hair near the drain cover. A manual twist action is intended to move collected hair towards a separate cartridge, which can then be removed for disposal. The mechanism still needs engineering and validation.

Does it require electricity or batteries?

No electrical power is planned. The proposed operation is fully manual.

Will it fit my shower drain?

Compatibility has not yet been established. Final dimensions, fitting arrangements and suitable drain types will be determined during engineering and testing.

Is it available to buy?

Not yet. SealDrain is in concept development, with no confirmed launch date, price or ordering programme.

Has the product been tested?

There is not yet a verified functional prototype. Water-flow performance, hair-transfer reliability, cleaning and durability remain to be tested.

Can manufacturers or engineering partners get involved?

Yes. We welcome enquiries from product development, mechanical engineering, prototyping and manufacturing partners. Detailed technical information would be discussed privately.

● Concept development

We're building what's next.

SealDrain is currently at the concept stage. Our next milestones are engineering feasibility, a bench-tested functional prototype, iterative water-flow and hair-transfer testing, and evaluation of manufacturing methods. Product dimensions, compatibility, materials and pricing are not yet finalised. We welcome conversations with experienced design, engineering and manufacturing partners.
